Prosecutor Identifies Victim Killed In Route 46 Parsippany Crash

Gerard Calcagno, a 55-year-old Bloomfield resident, was killed when he was struck by a vehicle on Route 46 in Parsippany on Thursday, June 6, authorities said.

At 9:50 p.m., Calcagno was struck near 1429 Route 46 by a 2015 Dodge Journey traveling eastbound, the Morris County Prosecutor's Office said.

Calcagno was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. The driver remained on scene, authorities said.

A graduate of Essex County Vocational School, Calcagno was passionate about fire trucks and fire departments, according to his obituary. He is survived by his sister Jean and brother Joseph, his obituary reads.
